Planned System Update
One of the many benefits of using the FeatureTel Hosted VoIP service is the fact that we keep the system current for you - routinely upgrading the system software and hardware, adding new features and functions.
 
In the old days of telephone systems, your vendor would call you to let you know it was time for an upgrade. Very often this process was expensive and required lengthy after-hours service at your office.
 
With FeatureTel, system upgrades and maintenance are included with your service.
 
You or your technical contacts should have already received a separate e-mail with the details of this upgrade. The service will be performed during the standard maintenance windows (between 12AM and 4AM and usually on weekends).

Auto-Draft Billpay
You can pay your monthly FeatureTel invoices automatically by ACH Automatic Draft.
 
If you would like to pay your FeatureTel invoice automatically each month, please contact Jennifer Gunter for the ACH Authorization form.
 
You will still receive copies of your invoice for your records, but they will already be paid - saving a stamp and a check!

Feature Spotlight: 
Custom Operator Assistance Number
 
For some callers, there is nothing worse than 'Voice Mail Jail...". With your FeatureTel service, you can give them a way out! When callers reach your voice mail, you can give them the option to leave a message or dial zero (0) and reach your custom operator (which may be the auto attendant or another extension). By default, the system will route callers to the auto attendant when they press zero while listening to your voicemail greeting. You can change the destination from the voice mail main menu.
 
TIP: If you use this option, when you record your greetings, be sure to tell callers that they can press zero (0) to be transferred to the auto attendant or to your designated alternate extension.
 
To hear or change where pressing (0) goes, follow these steps:
  1. Access the voicemail system.
  2. Press 8 to hear or change your custom operator selection.
  3. You should hear an announcement that your custom operator is an extension you previously programmed or the default selection.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Press 1 to change your custom operator number, see step 5
    • Press 2 to restore the default custom operator, see step 6
    • Press * to return to the voice mail main menu, see step 7
  5. If you pressed 1, enter your custom operator number, press # and listen to the confirmation announcement.
  6. If you pressed 2, listen to the announcement that your default custom operator has been restored.
  7. If you pressed *, listen to the voice mail main menu.
